COMPATIBLE ACCESSORIES

Genny4 Signal Generator

Genny4®’s patented simultaneous dual-frequency signal output facilitates location of small diameter cables such as telecoms and street lighting, including spurs. All C.A.T4® locator models have patented technology to detect both signals simultaneously. The power boost function in Genny4® enables the locate signal to travel further and deeper, and couple onto utilities more easily.

C.A.T4® and Genny4® products provide a comprehensive range of Cable Avoidance Tools helping professionals to drive best locating practice, reduce the number of cable strikes, and dig more safely.

Drive Best Practice

C.A.T Manager™ software helps supervisors and safety officers manage locating activity, review usage data and encourage safer working practices across teams and sites.

C.A.T Manager™ Online: Works with gC.A.T4+ models to provide near-real time monitoring, cloud-based data storage and analysis, with comprehensive 1-second usage data transmitted after each scan.

C.A.T Manager™ for PC: Uses USB 2.0 connectivity to retrieve and store gC.A.T4+ data logs locally, with data able to be exported and uploaded online for further analysis and sharing.

Account Options: Basic access includes the last 3 months of usage, analysis and survey reporting, while Pro and Enterprise options support team management, contract management, detailed reports and poor-practice alerts.

Reduce the Number of Strikes

C.A.T4 and Genny4 include features designed to help operators detect more buried utilities, locate difficult small cables and work effectively in challenging environments.

Small Cable Locate: Simultaneous dual-frequency locating helps users detect small diameter cables such as telecom twisted pairs, spurs and drop-offs.

Dynamic Overload Protection™: Rejects electrical interference so the locator can continue operating in electrically challenging areas, such as near substations or under power cables.

Avoidance Mode™: Sweeps an area using Power, Radio and Genny signals simultaneously, helping operators pinpoint buried utilities in a single pass.

Genny4 Signal Boost: Increases output signal by up to 10 times, helping locate over greater distances and depths.

Improve Safety

Built-in alerts, display visibility and usage monitoring features help reduce the risk of incorrect operation and accidental strikes during excavation work.

StrikeAlert™: Provides audible and visual warnings to help reduce the risk of hitting shallow buried cables, with optimisation in the C.A.T4 range to reduce false warnings.

SWING™: Detects incorrect usage patterns such as excessive or rapid swinging, warns the operator and stores the event in the data log.

High Visibility Display: A high contrast screen with automatic backlight helps minimise the risk of misreading critical information in varying light conditions.

Service and Calibration

Calibration management tools help reduce downtime, support compliance and keep C.A.T4 units operating within the required service period.

CALSafe™: Provides a 30-day countdown warning before calibration expiry and can be set to prevent operation outside the calibration period.

eCert™: Tests key C.A.T4 circuitry elements online and validates performance against the original factory calibration, allowing a Radiodetection Calibration Certificate to be printed or saved after a pass.

Maintenance Support: C.A.T Manager for Windows PC can perform software upgrades, reproduce calibration certificates and enable or disable selected features such as StrikeAlert or Swing Warnings, depending on the model.
